Xandria is about life, love, taking chances and most importantly following your dreams. The sitcom follows the story of a young and determined girl named Xandria. She is an actress and a star who has not quite reached fame and fortune yet, but strives on making it there. She works in a bar and lives with her best friend Fred, also a star; in the fashion world he is going to be Versace, but his diva antics get in the way of his dreams.
Xandria and Fred wholeheartedly support each other, doing what they can to rise to the top; though they seem to bring each other down through their clumsiness, with no lack of enthusiasm they carry on. We follow their comical fortunes and misfortunes as they learn life lessons and face many challenges.
Helping them on their way is the darkly handsome JD; having arrived from England, he is determined to start a new life down under, though he never imagined what was going to happen. When he runs into Xandria her topsy-turvy world collides with his well organised and structured life. Also tied into their crazy life is Heather: clean freak, gym junkie and hopeless romantic on the rebound from her recent break up. Watching over them is their landlord, Mrs. Shrump, an irate old woman who, tired of chasing up Fred and Xandria for rent, sticks her nose into their business every chance she gets
The Xandria project is the idea of Toni Martelli, an evolution ten years in the making. The idea started with a do-it-yourself attitude, Toni is an actress who did not want to wait around for an opportunity so created one for herself. The determination and dedication to her idea is finally paying off as it is now just inches away from being seen through the camera lens. On board is some great experience and some fresh faces all carrying the same enthusiasm to get this show up and running. We hope to see this project ready to be aired by the end of 2011 ready for the 2012 ratings season. The future only brings on bigger and brighter opportunities with the hope of reaching an overseas audience.
The show is a fast paced, bright, and contemporary sitcom. Unlike the traditional sitcom format which is based in a studio we will be on location, using real locations around Sydney. The style of the show is fun, entertaining, and exciting. The bright but naturally lit sets will entice viewers to see the world from Xandria's optimistic view. Stunning scenery with gorgeous sets splashed with vibrant colour continually show off the fun and outgoing personality of the show. With the crazy situations Xandria and Fred will find themselves, the show will ebb and flow and bounce from energy to energy, and as in all comic situations the personalities will be larger than life. In this comedy will be romance and at times some drama, though we know at the end of the day things will turn out alright. Our creative approach will be similar to the style of such sitcoms as Hope and Faith, Friends, and Will and Grace, with much of the action happening in the home of Xandria and Fred, with additional locations, such as the workplace and social gathering places.
The locations of the show are all around Sydney, we differ from the traditional sitcom style as we are not going to be situated in a studio with all built sets. The sitcom will be showing off Sydney with a bit of Xandria sparkle. This will be a great advertising space for the city as we have picked Sydney's most buzzing locations. The scenes are predominantly bright and colourful, with a musical influence present throughout, giving a sense of vibrancy. We hope to shine an attractive light on Sydney for audiences around Australia and as we branch out we will attract audiences from around the world.

Our website will include all the juicy behind the scenes action, deleted scenes, and clips from the crew and actors. All fun things for our audience to get involved with and to see what we do, as without an audience we do not exist and we really want to get them involved in our vision.
Our target audience are females 18-35. The light hearted feel of the show makes the show a relaxing, funny, and easy to watch program after a day of work. The show suits a Monday or Tuesday night 8.30pm timeslot intended for commercial television and/or SBS, where one can finish dinner and indulge on a guilty snack. Xandria is a very relatable character, juggling the many aspects of life, trying to reach success and find love. The feel good attitude of the show along with the wide range of characters will bring a refreshing change of pace to Australian television.
